Two Indian Air Force Mi-17 units took part in Operation Safed Sagar: 127 Helicopter Unit (127 HU) and 128 Helicopter Unit (128 HU).[1] These units have an establishment of ten Mi-17 helicopters each.[1] The Indian helicopter ground attack missions were by 127 HU.[1] During Operation Safed Sagar, 128 HU flew 620 missions, evacuating 224 casualties, some under hostile fire.[1]
