As they say in the movies, "oh be-have". Seriously, though, we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so don't make joke edits. Some readers looking for a serious article might not find them amusing. Remember, millions of people read Wikipedia, so we have to take what we do a bit seriously here. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write whatever you want (as long as it's not offensive).
Familiarize yourself with WP:CSD. I have wikipedia policy behind me. Thank you, TheCooler
Wikipedia is not censored. Telex
Wikipedia:Jimbo_on_Userboxes. TheCooler
Yes, and he says No new namespace, userboxes OK in userspace. The userboxes you were removing were in userspace. They were not templates. Telex
Still divisive and offensive and still unencyclopedic userboxes. TheCooler
That's your opinion. --Tēlex 19:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's Wikipedia policies. This is an encyclopedia. TheCooler
Prove that Wikipedia policy prohibits those userboxes. --Tēlex 19:39, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(reset indent) Stop vandalising the userpage please. ackoz 19:35, 19 June 2006 (UTC) (deleted by TheCooler, readded --ackoz 20:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]

It's not vandalism, but it is disruptive. Will (message me!) 20:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why is not not vandalism? — Arthur Rubin | (talk) 21:15, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Because he could quite easily believe that these edits improve the encyclopedia. That doensn't make the disruption acceptable, but it doesn't make it vandalism either. -GTBacchus(talk) 21:41, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes[edit]

I suggest that you contact users before you remove their userboxes. Also, I find it strange that almost all of your edits have been on removing userboxes...--TBC (aka Tree Biting Conspiracy) 19:38, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User pages[edit]

Please refrain from altering other users' user pages. You have been reported on the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Please read Wikipedia:User page#Ownership and editing of pages in the user space about editing other people's user pages. Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 19:48, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stop vandalizing my user page. Thank you. --Pockey 21:07, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Harassment[edit]

While Wikipedia has a general philosophy that we should avoid statements of political and ideological affiliation to help promote a more harmonious and neutral encyclopedia building effort... your actions have been neither harmonious nor neutral. You cannot use guidelines aimed at reducing conflict as an excuse for harassing others - it inherently contradicts the intent. Your choice to use a sock-puppet account for these activities also clearly indicates that you were aware that your actions would involve an element of harassment. Please stop editing the pages of other users. If you believe particular templates should be deleted you can mark them for speedy or take them to TFD... but you cannot edit war over the content of other user's pages. --CBD 12:12, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is harrassment to be bold and do the right thing as Jimbo said? TheCooler
He never said remove userfied userboxes from userpages. --Tēlex 19:56, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, Jimbo has not endorsed incivility and harassment. Indeed, he specifically said NOT to do what you have been doing:

"That means: don't make any crazy userboxes designed to try to trip this rule, and don't go on any sprees deleting ones that already exist."

Being unnecessarily inflammatory is never "the right thing". That said, your recent efforts to discuss reasons why we try to avoid such statements are an improvement. --CBD 20:18, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. TheCooler

I can put on my user page what ever I want. Tell me which box you do not like. :) Maybe I can do something. --Pockey 20:00, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pestering[edit]

You know, I think Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Why don't you actually do some encyclopedia writing instead of pestering users about their userboxes. It would be far more productive to start an article instead of soaking up the bandwidth spamming user talk pages. --Tēlex 20:12, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You're the only one pestering here. I'm taking up the advice of CBDunkerson. Unless you have something else to say, please leave me alone. TheCooler

Thank you. Listen, I do not want to discuss about boxes any more. It is my right to believe in some ideas, and if you don't like it, it is your problem. I can just say democratic reunification of Yugoslavia does not have anything whit Greater Serbia. And yes, some way you are right if you say these boxes can irritate other uses. But that is not my aim, and I will think about this. Regards, --Pockey 20:19, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Dear TheCooler, I want to thank you for switching tactics in your fight against political userboxes. I totally agree with you that they do not belong on Wikipedia, but I was the one who reported you on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents, because I feel people should be persuaded to remove those boxes, like you are doing now. Thanks again. I have on other question, however. Your familiarity with Wikipedia, though being a new user, gives me the impression you are a sockpuppet of another, more experienced user. That is not necessarly a problem (it is allowed to have sockpuppets, although some people are strongly against it). If this is the case, however, it would be best to state that explicitly on this page (like this [[1]]) to avoid any comments on this issue in the future. Good luck on your task! Cpt. Morgan (Reinoutr) 20:28, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is also intriguing to me to find a new editor who knows all the policies and has strong opinions on their enforcement. Its not considered polite to rename yourself without telling people who you were. Ansell 00:41, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Userboxes[edit]

My Userpage, my bussiness! Is that understood?! Luka Jačov 22:22, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What about mine? I think they do not offend anyone, on the contrary. I express my gratitude toward some people, which is more than a legitimate right of any individual. Especially in my case, I am thanking world leaders :). Thanks for dropping a line, anyways. ilir_pz 10:54, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
