Whitestone Ltd, d/b/a Whitestone Dome or simply Whitestone, is a private company headquartered in South Korea that designs and produces tempered glass screen protectors for smartphones. Particularly, Whitestone is notable for their namesake product Dome Glass, which uses a patented special application method to offer improved screen coverage and user experience when compared to other screen protectors of a similar design. Whitestone officially released its Dome Glass product line in 1H 2017.

Dome Glass[edit]
Whitestone's flagship product is the Dome Glass screen protector, manufactured with 9H hardness tempered glass and shipped with a proprietary "installation jig," which allows end user application and curing of the screen protector adhesive, as opposed to traditional tempered glass screen protectors that ship with adhesive pre-applied. Whitestone's application method allows for full adhesive coverage on a smartphone display whose glass is curved at the edge (such as Samsung's Galaxy Note 8), resulting in improved adhesion and appearance once installed. As of early 2018, Dome Glass products are offered for the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8, the LG V30, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, and the Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (and by extension all iPhone models dating back to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, excluding the iPhone SE).
Hodoo Glass[edit]
Whitestone also offers a traditional tempered glass as an inexpensive option for select smartphones, using the branding Hodoo Glass. As of early 2018, Hodoo Glass is available for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, 7 and 7 Plus, and 6S and 6S Plus.
Criticism[edit]
Based on customer reviews from online marketplaces such as Amazon and Newegg, user experience with Dome Glass is mixed. In particular, many reviewers note that the unusually complex installation process, while a necessity of the design, leaves a large amount of room for user error and incorrect installation of the product In addition, the price of Dome Glass is very high compared to competing tempered screen protectors with more traditional installation processes (Dome Glass products are priced at US$40 to US$50 on aggregate, compared to the vast majority of competing products being priced at US$15 or lower).
