Jenna Lyons

Jenna Lyons (born 1969) is the president and creative director of J.Crew Group, Inc.

Early life and Education

Lyons was born in Boston and was raised in Palos Verdes, California. She grew up with incontinentia pigmenti, a genetic disorder that caused sections of her hair to fall out and scarring on her skin. This disorder also caused her teeth to be malformed which has resulted in her having to wear dentures since she was young.

In a seventh grade home economics class Lyons learned to sew and discovered that she had a passion for design and fashion. She chose to pursue her passion and went to Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and then transferred to Parsons joining the BFA Fashion Design program.

Career

After graduating from Parsons Lyons took an internship at Donna Karen. In 1990 Lyons became a junior designer for J. Crew's creative design team. Lyons has moved her way up the ladder since being at J. Crew becoming a Designer, Design Director, Senior Design Director and Vice President of Women's Design. In April 2010 she was given the position Executive Creative Director and in July of that year she became the President of J. Crew Group Inc..

Personal life

In 1996 Lyons began a relationship with Vincent Mazeau. In 2002 the couple were married at Gedney Farm in New Marlborough, Massachusetts. The couple have one son together named Beckett. In 2011, after nine years of marriage, Lyons and Mazeau divorced.

That same year Lyons began a relationship with Courtney Crangi, sister and business partner of Philip Crangi.
