Article Selection[edit]

Please list articles that you're considering for your Wikipedia assignment below. Begin to critique these articles and find relevant sources.

Option 1[edit]

Article title
Talk Show
Article Evaluation
The article's content is relevant to the topic.
The article is neutral.
No one has contributed to the Talk Page, besides someone interested in contacting a talk show host.
The article could benefit from some up-to-date info and sources beyond 2010 as well as other talk show types, such as those aired on social media. Jada Pinkett-Smith's Red Table Talk show would be one example.
Sources
The article has citations that work properly, but most are from the New York Times and have persuasive rather than neutral writings. The other source is from a website by Oprah, who is also a talk show host and wouldn't be considered a reliable source.

Option 2[edit]

Article title
Nonprofit Organization
Article Evaluation
The article's content is relevant to the topic, although some of the sections can be elaborated on, such as Mechanisms for Raising Money, it's Challenges and Statistics.
It is not neutrally written in that it focuses primarily on how nonprofit vs not-for-profit organizations are differentiated and represented in the US rather than that of the world.
On the Talk page, there is conversation about expanding upon the information that is listed, such as including a more comprehensive list of the settings of nonprofit organizations, updating spelling/punctuation for uniformity, and eliminating possibly biased information by including details about the world as opposed to the US.
Sources
Although most claims have a citation, there are a few that are missing much needed supporting sources. Most of the sources are fully functional however.

Option 3[edit]

Article title
Becoming a Talk Show Host
Article Evaluation
This article does not yet exist, but it would be good, educational content to add to Wikipedia for research purposes to be used by those aspiring to create a career of this. It would not serve as a "how-to" guide, but it would reveal the steps and avenues that others in the industry followed in pursuing this type of career. It would also reveal expectations and how the different genre of talk show hosts became to exist. If not as a standalone article, it would be great contribution to the Talk Show article.
Sources
I would need to locate reliable articles with instructions, aside from the biased and one-sided literature found on the web. The challenge would be in confirming that enough reliable sources exist to make this a success.

Option 4[edit]

Article title
Blog
Article Evaluation
The article's content is relevant to the topic.
It is not written neutrally throughout the entire article, such as in the Political Impact section of the article.
In the Talk page of the article, it is rated as a B class, level 4 vital article so it could use more reliable sources and more development.
Sources
The article has several citations; however, many citations are needed in order to support many of the assertions made in the article. Also, the article lacks up-to-date sources.

Option 5[edit]

Article title
Creative Writing
Article Evaluation
This article has content relevant to the topic, but the content is incomplete.
The article is written neutrally, but it needs citations and sources to prove it's neutrality in many of the statements made, such as those involving the use and change in use of creative writing in post secondary education institutions.
There is no conversation on the Talk page of this article.
Sources
Sources used for this article are reliable and it is likely that one would be able to locate more peer-reviewed and other reliable sources due to the broad topic.
