Background[edit]

This article regarding the Opening of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons building is a highly credible source as it was published in the British Medical Journal. Anything that is published in this journal is extensively peer-reviewed by other specialists in the field. The author of the article, Sir D’arcy Power, was present at the time of this opening, is known as a medical historian and operated as a surgeon himself. This source will be useful in providing a brief history of how the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons building came to be, where it is situated, who it was funded by and the important bodies that were present in witnessing its opening. This includes people who are related to the building in some way, such as Mr Leighton Irwin, the architect of the building. It also fulfills the requirement of neutrality as the passage gives an account of the opening of the building, stating the facts of its location and other members that were present during the opening ceremony. It gives a short list stating how surgical representatives from countries such as Great Britain, Canada and the United States were present.
