Stars, simply put[edit]

Working lists[edit]

Alcyone.de cleanup:

Alcyone.de provides star catalogue data online — most of those links only provides limited crossref data, elsewhere provided by SIMBAD and the articles themselves. Such crossref data are not needed, but if the site provides/collates data about the star itself, which happens for bright stars, it can be used if better sources aren't available.

To fixup afterwards: Category:Star stubs

Extraordinary data[edit]

See CHARA array and Talk:CHARA array.

Helium Flashes and Thermal Pulses[edit]

type WP link notes, sources to use
Very Late Thermal Pulse FG Sagittae Have changed Sp from B in 1955 to G in 1991. Has been suggested that it is evolving into a R Coronae Borealis variable:
Very Late Thermal Pulse Sakurai's Object is there already.
Very Late Thermal Pulse V605 Aquilae SAO/NASA Astrophysics Data System (ADS) search on f.ex. V605 Aquilae.
Late Thermal Pulse Late thermal pulse
(Asymptotic giant branch)
Very Late Thermal Pulse RURSUS:Thermal Pulse Dave: "final helium flash object", seem to be identical with VLTP as per above.

Oddballs[edit]

type WP link notes, sources to use
CK Vul Nova CK Vulpeculae Astronomy and Astrophysics: "CK Vul as a candidate eruptive stellar merging event" (FREE ACCESS, YIPPEE!)
Luminous Red Nova V838 Monocerotis
Odd RCB like object V854 Centauri RCB that has an odd Sp, too much H, tool little Fe, and is otherwise weird, extreme and unshaved.

Hydrogen deficits[edit]

type WP link notes, sources to use
RCB related Hydrogen deficit carbon star (HdC), see The R Coronae Borealis Stars. There was 5 known (as of Oct08). They're like R Coronae Borealis variables (RCBs) but not variable.
RCB related Extreme helium stars (EHe), 20 known, 3 are RCBs, 4 are Sp-bins, most popII, the Sp-bins are popI. Acc2 these 1st known EHe is HD 124448. They're supergiants (lum class I) "less massive than the Sun but many times larger and hotter". (Unclear, but possible) Better: Simon Jeffery (Armagh observatory): Extreme Helium Stars seems OK.

Carbon-Oxygen transjunks[edit]

type WP link notes, sources to use
Carbon-Oxygen Novae ?? Lozzahizz on Yögl, F.ex.:

There seems to be two kinds of "Carbon-Oxygen stars" i.e. WO Wolf-Rayets, and OC white dwarfs. The WO Wolf-Rayets may, acc2 some theories, give rise to some type Ic supernovae, and mossibly even hypernovae.

Green stars[edit]

Hello! I know you're there! Don't pretend you don't exist, because you must exist in order to pretend. (Some WR:s and early O stars might actually be green).

Ia/b Supergiant Lacks assessment, stubby, talkers screams for facts:
