The Lithuanian Game Developers Association is an association which aims to unite video game developers from all fields. It was created on May 28th, 2013. Currently, it unites 22 companies working with game development, publishing, game services and technologies in Lithuania.[1]

The objectives of the Lithuanian Game Developers Association are to unite Lithuanian game developers, to promote cooperation between them and to represent the interests of game developers. To promote game development in Lithuania, to encourage and support the continuous professional development of Lithuanian game developers. To initiate, promote, support and collaborate in the development of curriculum related to the games industry in Lithuanian schools and universities. To establish standards of ethics and professional conduct. Lithuanian Games Industry[edit]

The Lithuanian gaming industry is constantly growing since 2013 until 2018 the revenues of the industry have grownd from 7.63 millions to 115 millions according to the Lithuanian Innovation Center.

The video game development revenue keeps increasing in Lithuania due to the global industry constantly changing and the prices of both smartphones and internet connection decreasing. The Lithuanian game developers also see their playground getting bigger with new tools that allows to create new opportunities to develop other areas of public values such as education and rehabilitation.

Where does this growth come from?[edit]

The numbers of studios didn't change much since the last years, in fact the growth of the Lithuanian video game industry comes from the increasing of employee recruitment.

In 2013 the amount of people working in the Lithuanian Game Industry was 197 compared to 2018 where the amount of them was 774. It represents a growth of 293% in 5 years.

What about the market?[edit]

The size of Lithuanian Game Dev market has been growing since few years, still according to the Lithuanian Innovation Center. 90% of the companies related to GameDev in Lithuania are Micro companies (companies with less than 10 employees and an annual turnover of up to two million euros). This shows that the country has high entrepreneurial people that rather choose to innovate and create their own studios than joining a larger capital companies.
