Some tips for experienced editors, on improving the Technical robustness of articles:

Dates[edit]

Where applicable, dates (of birth, creation, founding, etc; or death, demolition, disestablishment etc.) should use {{Start date}} or {{End date}}.

Biographies[edit]

Check that dates of birth and (if applicable) death are provided, and add categories if not.

Add categories:

if dates are missing

Coordinates[edit]

When using {{Coord}}, make sure the type parameter is set, and the region parameter is not only set, but as specific as possible e.g. region:GB-BIR for Birmingham, not just region:GB).

If an article has an infobox, and title coordinates, the coordinates should also display in the infobox.

Categories[edit]

Ensure that categories are not redundant (e.g. if Category: People from Birmingham, West Midlands is used, then Category: People from the West Midlands (county) and Category: People from England are redundant

Lists[edit]

  • Use {{Flatlist}} rather than comma-separated lists
  • Use {{Plainlist}} rather than <BR />-separated lists
