I am known by "Alex" (my middle name) to friends and family.

I began my martial arts training as a youngster in 1980 in Ed Parker's American Kenpo West Los Angeles studio. In my 30's I studied Hapkido for four years under Grand Master Bong Soo Han in his Santa Monica school. I am a Certified Level 3 Instructor in Jim Wagner's Reality-Based Personal Protection.
