The Kirkland Reporter, briefly known as the Kirkland Courier Reporter, is the city's primary newspaper, with a circulation of about 12,700 weekly copies. In 1991, the Pacific Publishing Company acquired The Kirkland Courier, which was mailed within Kirkland's incorporated communities. On April 30th, 2007 the Courier was acquired by Sound Publishing (web site Sound Publishing) under its subsidiary at the time, King County Publications. The paper is delivered free to driveways and various drop locations.
