Notes[edit]

  1. ^ Per WP:DEADREF, replacement references should be sought for information that relies on this as a source. The dataset would have been the one that ENFA is now based on, so any refs could be easily migrated by editors with subscriptions to that.
  2. ^ Current consensus is that this is not a reliable source due to UGC concerns, although news articles on the site are sourced and could be included if neccessary.
  3. ^ Published by HEIM:SPIEL (a "service provider for sports data"). Not UGC (although users can add pictures, videos and their own articles). I have confirmed this by creating an account and I am not able to edit data.
  4. ^ Registered users are able to submit additions/changes to the database. I have confirmed this by creating an account. I corrected the foundation date for West Ham, which was previously 1 January 1895. I didn't need to provide a source for the change, and I received confirmation within around 20 minutes, so I'm not sure how much checking they do. Obviously they use a default date of 1 January when they only know the year, which tells its own story. I can't find an about page, so it's difficult to tell who is behind the site.

  7. ^ The site is run by Trefor Jones, author of The Watford Football Club Illustrated Who's Who and Watford Season by Season.
  8. ^ Cites sources at bottom. Additional contributions (boxed) should not be cited.
  9. ^ The site is run by Trefor Jones, author of The Watford Football Club Illustrated Who's Who and Watford Season by Season.
  10. ^ Historical content is sourced from an early edition of The Complete Record, with additional input from Steve Marsh. Later stats are accompanied by report links to confirm accuracy.
  11. ^ Run by Steve Marsh, who is a published author/historian (cowrote/compiled The Complete Record). Additional material from Roger Hillier, who is in similarly good standing.
  12. ^ Self-published. Useful as it's a comprehensive list.
