Cognitive bias kills... Gimli Glider - Without engine power, and with only manual wheel braking, the pilot put the aircraft down, complete with 61 passengers plus crew, and safely brought it to a stop. This outcome was the result of skill (the pilot had glider experience) and luck (the co-pilot just happened to know about the abandoned airstrip); no lives were lost. Reason: Refuelling error at airport. - So need Cognitive bias mitigation, it was the result of a series of unchecked assumptions made by ground personnel.

Sexual overperception bias[edit]

For romantic over-estimation, sexual overperception bias. Even the researcher who proved it still fell victim.

There is an obvious evolutionary reason that the urge in males to force themselves on females will be a genetic behaviour which dominates - women need to beware and fight off the stalking stork bearing babies.

Forgiveness is possible - they know not what they do - if they can show learning from mistakes and contrition, apology.

It affects school children the most. Evidence gathered on website everyone's welcome / allowed. Proving Early exposure to Internet porn is exacerbating this evolutionary bias.

Endorsing and being more open to casual sex may have evoked more sexual interest from members of the opposite sex, leading to more frequent reports of sexual overperception.[2] Socially unrestricted male and female high school students were found to report being more subject to sexual harassment as well as sexually harassing others.[3] From this, it is possible that being subject to sexual over-perception may explain the link between socio-sexuality and being subject to sexual harassment.[3]
