Erectile tissue[edit]
Erectile tissue is tissue found in the body that are capable of being filled with blood, making the tissue become enlarged and stiff. The main erectile tissues are found in the penis in males, in the vagina and clitoris of females and the nipples of both.[1]

The corpora cavernosa tissue found inside of the penis, around the corpus cavernosum urethre (a.k.a. corpus spongiosum). There is no vestibular bulbs preset in the anatomy because it is replaced by the corpus spongiosum
Erection[edit]
An erection starts with chemical or physical stimuli which causes a chemical signal to be sent to the brain. Your brain respond by sending hormones through the body, telling the arteries in the corpora cavernosa to open, allowing blood to flow in to the erectile muscle. When the tissue is filled with blood, the penis becomes enlarged and stiff.

Other erectile tissue[edit]
Erectile tissue is also found in the nose (turbinates), ear, urethral sponge and perineal sponge. The erection of nipples is not due to erectile tissue, but rather due to the contraction of smooth muscle under the control of the autonomic nervous system.
