The American Party of Labor (APL) is an anti-revisionist communist political party in the United States established in 2008.[1] The party opposes Titoism, Trotskyism, and Khrushchev's revisionism.[2] It was founded in 2008 by associates of Jack Shulman, who died in 1999. A reorganization of the party occurred at a party congress in 2016. In November 2018, the party was granted observer status at the ICMLPO.[1]

Stances[edit]

Health Care[edit]

The APL demands a nationalized healthcare system with an emphasis on preventative care, and that other aspects of the healthcare system be nationalized, such as the pharmaceutical industry. The APL also demands government research of presently incurable diseases and the opposition of discrimination against those suffering from them. The APL takes a hard-line stance against drug addiction and so-called 'hard drugs', demanding preventive education, proven medical treatments, and the complete legalization of marijuana. Patient rights are also a pillar of the APL's stance on healthcare, demanding full rights for patients, including the right to die.[2]
