Just joined! (12th May).

Very brief background: graduate student with eclectic, magpie-like interests in the arts and humanities. I have a degree in history and literature, and I'm writing a PhD in history of science (seventeenth century central Europe), which I mustn't wholly abandon for the wonders of Wikipedia...

I also like sailing, mountains, folk music, poetry of many ages and kinds, and numerous other things which I will add to this page in due course.
