Hello, I am Larry Friddle. I am currently the Chief Engineer of KHBS TV in Fort Smith Arkansas and KHOG TV in Fayetteville Arkansas. I began my career in broadcasting at KHBS, then KFPW TV in 1978 as a video tape operator. In 1980 I became the Chief Engineer of the radio facilities owned by Hernreich Broadcasting Stations. HBS at that time owned TV stations KFPW TV Fort Smith, KTVP TV Fayetteville, and KAIT TV Jonesborough. Radio stations included KFPW AM and KXXI FM in Fort Smith, KZNG AM and KWBO FM in Hot Springs. During this time I also worked as a television engineer at KFPW TV and KTVP TV. When HBS sold all of the radio stations in 1983 I was named the Chief Engineer of KFPW TV. In 1985 HBS sold KAIT TV and the Director of Engineering position was eliminated. The former Director of Engineering Don Vest was named Chief Engineer and I stepped down to Assistant Chief Engineer. Over the years the call signs of KFPW TV and KTVP TV were changed to KHBS TV and KHOG TV. In 1996 KHBS and KHOG TV were sold to Argyle television which merged with the Hearst corporation broadcast division the next year to form Hearst-Argyle Television. I remained Assistant Chief Engineer over both KHBS and KHOG TV stations until I finally gave in and accepted the Chief Engineers title again in 2005. --LF (talk) 05:55, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
