I'm a librarian at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and I study the Hebrew Bible and writings from the Levant during time of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah and their subsequent exile, roughly 1000 to 500 B.C.E. My Purdue home page is at http://www.lib.purdue.edu/hsse/facultyandstaff/bibliographers/lawrencemykytiuk.html. After clicking on the preceding URL, click on the link to the "old site," and you will see my home page.

I recognize the importance of Wikipedia, because I know that learners—including students, enthusiasts, and the curious—will _use_ free, online resources. I prefer Wikipedia to blogs, because along with the rough-and-tumble of voiced opinions, in the Wikipedia there seems to be a reasonable attempt at fairness in governance, some grace for beginners, and an attempt to give a fair hearing to dissenting voices. These elements are not always present on blogs.
