He has sworn revenge on Luffy for being humiliated, and pursues him through the Grand Line. During his time aboard Gol D. Roger's ship, he consumed the Bara Bara no Mi, a fictional Devil Fruit which gave him the power to separate his body into "slices". This also makes him immune to cutting attacks.
  • Alvida - Alvida is the first pirate Luffy encounters during the story of One Piece. In her first appearance she is extremely overweight and ugly, but through fear and intimidation forces her crew to call her the "most beautiful woman" sailing the seas. Prior to the events of the story, she captured Coby and forced him to join her crew as a cabin boy. She is defeated by Luffy, but teams up with Buggy in order to track him down. During her absence, she ate the Sube Sube no Mi, a Devil Fruit which makes her skin extremely smooth, to the point where attacks and projectiles slide off of her. The fruit had the added effect of making her slim and beautiful.
  • Mohji - The First Mate of Buggy's Band of Pirates, Mohji claims he can control any animal. His partner, the lion Richie, is the only animal he has shown any control over in the series. Mohji is fast and agile, and very skilled with a whip, going along with his lion tamer theme.

Three years before the present storyline, Kuro grew tired of life as a pirate and constantly being hunted by the Marines. He hatched an elaborate scheme to have an impostor take his place and be executed. Fleeing back to East Blue, Krieg makes the decision to steal Baratie and rebuild his forces. He is defeated by Luffy and carried away by his crewman Gin.
  • Gin - Don Krieg's First Mate, who leads Krieg and his crew to Baratie. Defeats his crewmate Pearl for almost killing Sanji, claiming only he has the right to kill the cook. He is gassed by Don Krieg in an attempt to kill Luffy, and disappears with the rest of the crew. His ultimate fate is unknown.

The Straw Hat Pirates soon come to him for more information on the "Island in the Sky," and how to reach it. He also has a habit of saying he's "edgy" whenever almost anything happens.
