Trongate is an open-source software rapid development web framework, for use in building dynamic web sites with PHP, using the Hierarchical Asset View Controller (HAVC) pattern, and aims to be a self contained eco system with Desktop application and Module marketplace. It is currently live and will have an official launch date expected mid February 2022.[1]

History[edit]

Trongate is being developed by David Connelly of Speed Coding Academy. David had become frustrated with the other PHP frameworks and set to task to create his framework, and this has lead to the development of other features which are unique to the Trongate Framework and it's vision of being a self contained, best in class, web development eco-system.

While the framework is currently available to all, the desktop application (code generator) is currently closed to members of Speed Coding Academy only.

When Trongate launches, a Module Market will be available on the Trongate website where developers can search for modules, entire apps, or submit their own modules / apps for free or for profit.

Trongate's philosophy and strength is that is will strive to remain a V1 framework for it's entire lifecycle, never imposing rewrites on developers.

The framework is already being tipped to be a top 10 PHP framework[2]

Source code and license[edit]

Trongate's source code is maintained at GitHub,[3] and is certified open source software licensed with the MIT License.
