Iligan City Waterfalls[edit]

Iligan is a highly urbanized city located in Northern Mindanao and is the industrial center of Southern Philippines. It is best known for the large number of waterfalls concentrated in the area, and is aptly called the City of Majestic Waterfalls. There are actually 23 big and small waterfalls.

These are the list of the 23 waterfalls in Iligan City, Some are undiscovered (that's why some have no pictures):

Maria Cristina Falls[edit]

Iligan's greatest heritage. The most resplendent among the 20 plus waterfalls. Also known as the "Mother of Industry" and "Fountainhead of Progress". It is 320 ft. high, spews 130 cubic meters per second of water and the veritable source of power in the city and majority of mindanao. Located 9.3 kms. away from the city proper. Since its water is being harnessed for electric power, full grandeur viewing of the waterfalls is every Saturdays and Sundays at 11 in the morning.




Tinago Falls[edit]

Tinago Falls is located in a deep ravine in Barangay Ditucalan, Iligan City. The falls plunges 240 feet (73 m) high from a cliff.




Limunsudan Falls[edit]

Limunsudan Falls are believed to be the Philippines' highest waterfall at 870 feet, located in Barangay Rogongon, Iligan City, in the Province of Lanao del Norte.




Mimbalot Falls[edit]

Mimbalot Falls belongs to the city’s so-called Tourism Triangle, along with the Tinago Falls and Ma. Cristina Falls. A not so high ang mighty falls with a drop of approximately 90 ft. high and is 18 ft. wide, but very alluring with its natural water. This is a great spot especially for nature lovers who like to enjoy the untouched natural beauty. You can do picnic at Mimbalot falls because they already develop the place and put some tables besides the waterfalls, Mimbalot is located at Brgy. Buru-un.

Dodiongan Falls[edit]

Dodiongan Falls is a must visit waterfall. Situated in the heart of Brgy. Bonbonon, Dodiongan Falls is just a few simple trek away in the jump off area. Easy breezy for not an avid fan of trekking but be sure to be on your trekking attire as it gets tough upon crossing the river. 65.60 ft. high, cascading down to a concrete-like boulder. Its tranquil, cool waters and lush vegetation make it a real haven for nature lovers. The pool at the foot of the falls is very ideal for swimming, 14.5 km. away from the city proper.

Guimbalolan Falls[edit]

Approximately 29 km. from the city proper at Brgy. Rogongon.

Kamadahan Falls[edit]

Located 26.5 km. from the city proper at Brgy. Rogongon.

Pindarangahan Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Rogongon, is located 27.5 km. from the city proper.

Gata Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Rogongon, is located 28.5 km. from the city proper.

Kibalang Falls[edit]

Located in in Brgy. Rogongon, is located 31.5 km. from the city proper.

Lumbatin Falls[edit]

Located in Barangay Pugaan, Approx. 8 kms from the city proper.

Dalipuga Falls[edit]

Dalipuga waterfalls is one of the most accessible waterfalls here in Iligan City – just about 13 km. away from city proper and about few minutes hike up to the water source. If we were to compare, Dalipuga falls is like a children’s playground. It is not too big, just enough for a at most 5 people to move around – that is if you are petite. Despite of its small size, visitors can still jump from the rock but one should still be cautious enough. Though this waterfall isn’t as impressive, as big and as huge as Maria Cristina, Tinago and Dodiongan Falls, we believe, Dalipuga Falls has its own unique character that made it a good playground for the kids.

Kalubihon Falls[edit]

Kalubihon Falls is located in Brgy. Dalipuga. Kalubihon is among the series of waterfalls who shares the same streamline with Pampam and Dalipuga Falls. A few hundred meters from Pampam falls, directly above the stream line, Kalubihon Falls is sitting inside a cave. You have to enter a small cave, swim into the water, climb up directly to the opposite opening of the cave, you will find this waterfall.

Langilanon Falls[edit]

This waterfall is located in Brgy. Pugaan. The waterfall has a height of 40 ft. down to a concrete-like boulder. The waterfalls is approximately 6 km. from the city proper.

Hindang Falls[edit]

A 40 ft. high two-tiered waterfalls with a lagoon ideal for swimming. Located at hinterland Brgy. Hindang, approximately 20 km. from the city. Other attractions of the Barangay are the 6-8 cave clusters. Most caves have narrow entrance with long and deep chambers.

Pampam Falls[edit]

Approximately 13 km. from the city proper, Pampam falls is one of the accessible in 23 waterfalls of Iligan City. Located at Brgy. Dalipuga, Pampam falls sits in the middle of the streamline between Dalipuga and Kalubihon Falls. You can actually visit both Pampam and Kalubihon in one shot.

Languyon Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Pugaan, approximately 14 kms from city proper. Languyon is a local term which means swim in English.

Linanot Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Bunawan, is located 11 km. from the city proper.

Malinao Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Kabacsanan, is located 18 km. from the city proper.

Bridal Veil Falls[edit]

Located at Brgy. Buru-un. It is frequently-used name for waterfalls that observes fancy resemble as a bridal’s veil which it has also a lot of bridal veil falls in the world such as in France, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, South Africa, United States and Zimbabwe. It is an amazing waterfalls  in Philippines so visit now in Iligan City to enjoy your summer vacation.

Abaga Falls[edit]

Abaga Falls is located approximately 15 km. Southwest of Iligan City specifically in Brgy. Abaga, Baloi municipality, Lanao del Norte. The height of Abaga Falls is approximately twice that of the famous Maria Cristina Falls also located within the proximity of Iligan City (in Baloi municipality). Compared to Maria Cristina, which is connected to the Agus river, the source of water of Abaga Falls are the several underground springs which flow into the top of the Abaga Falls. Human access to Abaga Falls is severely limited due to current lack of regularly maintained roads as well as the fact that a moderate amount of walking is required to reach the base of the falls.

Malaigang Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Digkilaan, is located 14 kms. from the city proper.

Malapacan Falls[edit]

Located in Brgy. Mainit, is located 15 kms. from the city proper.


If we will rank these waterfalls based on popularity, the Maria Cristina Falls will be the first one in the list. Since this is the Iligan’s greatest heritage and the landmark of Iligan City. Another famous waterfall is the Limunsudan Falls which is said to be the highest waterfall in the Philippines.
