Greetings!

Hello, my name is Jessica, and this is my second term in working towards my M.S. in Biotechnology. I learned a great deal last semester, so I am extremely eager to continue learning with all of you, my fellow classmates, on this Wikipedia group assignment.

Upon graduating with a B.S. in Molecular Biology in 2007 from the University if West Florida, I worked at one of the FL state crime labs doing DNA work; however, once I got my feet wet in that field, I realized it was not the particular career path I wanted to lead down. Thereafter, I moved back to the Midwest (my original home) to get back into academic research since I enjoyed my year-long research opportunity for my Biochemistry/Molecular Biology professor during my undergraduate program. Currently, I live in the Indianapolis area with my husband, Joe. In addition, I work for the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where I work in the Department of Surgery (Xenotransplantation). Here, I work for a liver transplant surgeon, where his interest lies in the genetic manipulation in pig xenotransplantation and how it relates to humans.

I look forward to working with all of you this semester. Best of luck!
