I live in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada after growing up in North York. Like most "canucks" I am a huge hockey fan (Go Leafs Go!) as well as a huge Baseball fan (Go Jays Go!). I am also into politics and when I can combine Hockey and Politics I am in heaven (lol). After Ken Dryden won as a Liberal in the 2004 Federal Election I researched to see how many other NHLers were involved in politics. These are my findings, if anyone can add to this list please drop me a line.
- Lionel Conacher-MP, Liberal, elected 1949
- Howie Meeker-MP, Conservative, elected 1951
- Red Kelly-MP, Liberal, elected 1962
- Syl Apps-MPP, Conservative, elected 1971
- Frank Mahovlich-Senator, Liberal, appointed 1998
- Ken Dryden-MP, Liberal, elected 2004
