Quiet Tree is an Indie Rock band from Morrow, Ohio fromed in 1982. They achieved relative success during the mid 80's and early 90's, but have since gone into a hiatus. The group still records, but they have not toured live in some time and have said they are still trying to "perfect their new sound." [1]

History[edit]

Early Years[edit]

The band was founded when members Brian Feldon and Mary Lynnford met at Lourdes College in 1980. The two began to date and discovered they both had musical talent, Feldon on guitar and Lynnford with vocals. The two met Josh Spencer and Aiden Harrelson while browsing for thrift goods, and with Spencer on bass and Harrelson on drums they began recording in their apartment. After seeing them at a show, Robert Pittson auditioned to join the group on keyboard, and joined the group in 1982. [2]

No. 6 Records and West Coast Tour[edit]

The group continued to play at smaller venues until they were discovered by a talent agent for No. 6 Records. The group signed with them and began to achieve success. After playing a particularly large show at the Agora Theatre, the group decided to take their act further. They embarked on a tour of the West Coast, stopping in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Seattle.[3]

Hiatus[edit]

As of 1993, the group announced they were taking a hiatus in order to perfect a new sound. Many view this lengthy period of inactivity as a collective retirement for the group, though they insist in interviews they will return to the Indie scene, which they said in an interview has been "overrun with hipsters."
