Hello, I am a medical student at the University of California San Francisco editing this article as part of a class in Winter 2017. Here is my workplan:

Why?

• High priority, start quality article
• Personal interest in refugee and migrant health
• With over 65 million displaced individuals in the world today, information on mental health of migrants is likely more important than ever

Initial Analysis

• Poor sentence structure and awkward syntax
• Nonuniform use of terms
• Unclear definition of syndrome (i.e. due to stress of migration vs. wrongful diagnosis)
• Paragraphs too similar to source material
• Lacking treatment options (e.g. use of CHWs)

What Will Be Added/Augmented

• Edit for grammar, clarity, uniformity, and brevity
• Improve use of source material to avoid copyright/plagiarism
• Add section on treatment and therapy considerations

What Will Be Removed/Diminished:

• Background of Dr. Joseba Achotegui

Coordination Plan:

• Work-In-Progression (WIP) sessions on 11/27, 12/1, and 12/15
• Submit interim progress reports for WIP sessions on 12/6 and 12/11
