The author reviews literature on capital theory, the structure of production and hoarding, regarding the main research question: How does hoarding influence the structure of production? The author uses comparative statistics to compare three hypothetical economic scenarios.[1]

Binswanger defines hoarding as the monetary fund’s withdrawn from and not reinjected into the circular flow of money, describing the action of hoarding as a major role in credit money economies.[2] The authors perform theoretical and empirical analysis of economic hoarding, with empirical data collected from China specifically, concluding that economic output has greater influence on financial hoarding than financial hoarding has on economic output.
