Dr. Michael Mazaheri is a board certified surgeon and an ophthalmologist in Richardson, Texas[1]. He is affiliated with the Medical Centre of Plano and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital He is one of the foremost surgeons in the United States to formulate the procedure of LASIK surgery[2] and is the founder of the M LASIK Center in Richardson, Dallas, Texas. He has been working in the field of Ophthalmology for 20 years[3]
Early Life and Career[edit]
Born in 1967, Dr Mazaheri earned his B.Sc in chemistry from George Mason University and later went to pursue a Medical Degree from East Virginia Medical School in 1989. He attended the State University of New York for his eye surgery training in 1994 and then studied at the Johns Hopkins University[4].
At the age of 27, Dr. Mazaheri began to work on a patent which dealt with flap complications and severe dry eye[2][3]. In 1998, he established the M Lasik Center in Dallas, Texas[4].
In 2005, he attained the feat of avoiding flap cutting for all the refractive surgeries performed by him[5].
The M Lasik Centre[edit]
The M LASIK Dallas Center, founded by Dr. Mazaheri is situated in Richardson, Dallas Texas[5]. It provides the service of flapless LASIK laser vision correction to patients[2] and a post-operation course of medication (which is adjusted on the basis of microns of tissue removal)[2]. The procedure reduces the recovery time and complications post-surgery[6].
