Welcome to the WikiProject Pharmacology. This project coordinates the development of Wikipedia articles relating to medications and pharmacology.
Goals[edit]
- Categorize and tag all articles within the scope of WikiProject Pharmacology.
- Insert {{WikiProject Pharmacology|class=|importance=}} on every Pharmacology-related article's talk page you can find.
- Assess the quality and importance of each article as it relates to this project.
- Create navigational boxes for medication and each category. (The drug navbox contains all categories, and specific categories' navboxes contain links to actual articles of specific drugs, with possible sub-categorization.)
- Remove inconsistencies in related articles and expand all stubs under the scope of the project.

Improve articles[edit]
- The article worklist contains a list of all of the articles that have been identified as being of interest to the project, organized according to category and assigned an importance and quality grade.
- Adopt a stub. There are many, many stubby pharmacology articles that have the potential to be excellent articles.
- Add information to the infoboxes in drug articles.
- Need help creating structural diagrams? See Wikipedia:WikiProject Pharmacology/Structural diagrams. Also see the the Wikipedia Manual of Style on Chemical Structure Diagrams.
- Add references. Correct and reliable references are vital if the articles produced by this project are to be a verifiable source of information for our readers. Adding references is easy with this tool. Just submit the PubMed ID and copy and paste the resulting output (xxxx) into the page between <ref> xxxxx </ref> Alternatively, if you use Internet Explorer or Firefox (2.0+), then Wouterstomp's bookmarklet can automate this step from the PubMed abstract page.
- Fight against vandalism. Also, be suspicious about deletions or mitigations of adverse effects, as it has been shown that they are targets of drug company representatives.[1]
Categorize articles[edit]
- Label articles of interest to the project by putting the {{WikiProject Pharmacology}} template on the talk pages of all articles of interest to pharmacy and pharmacology.
- Stubs: Category:Uncategorised pharmacology articles contains all stubs requiring categorization.
- Categorize drug articles by adding them to the appropriate categories.
- Once an article achieves a level of B-class or C-class, place the pharmacology portal template in the 'see also' or 'external links' section. You can do this by adding the following tag: {{Portal|Pharmacy and Pharmacology}}.
Direct our focus[edit]
- Join in discussing proposals, so that we can take our ideas off the drawing board and put them into action. Go there, choose a proposal, read it and add your two cents!
- The Pharmacology portal always needs to be maintained!
Work on project pages[edit]
- Help to develop the Drugbox and drug navigational templates. Drug information boxes can be included in each Wikipedia article about a particular drug.
- Assist in public relations and outreach by recruiting editors interested in pharmacology to contribute to Wikipedia.
