Dr. Doug Belshaw is an open strategist with a deep background in education and also in organisational change. In other words, he's an educator, technologist, researcher, and advocate for openness and transparency.

These days, Doug spends a lot of time talking about decentralisation, but he's perhaps best known for his work on digital literacies, successfully defending a doctoral thesis on the topic. He's also an evangelist for digital credentials, after working on the original Open Badges team at the Mozilla Foundation.

As a former History teacher and lover of the outdoors, Doug is working towards a Mountain Leader qualification, and particularly enjoys combining walks with visiting ancient monuments.
