Overview[edit]

Berklee This user attends or attended Berklee College of Music.

Corey Rupp (born February 7, 1990) is a Korean-American musician and guitarist by trade. He currently is studying Professional Music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Corey is focusing on performing, writing, producing, and mixing. As a guitarist his influences stem from the likes of T-Bone Walker, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and John Mayer. As a writer, producer, and mixer, he focuses more on pop/rock music.

Musical Background[edit]

Growing up on his dad's classic rock collection and whatever was on pop radio, he began to take interest in the guitar. His formal music education began at age 10 when he started taking private lessons from a local guitar teacher. He caught on fast, learning how to read music along with learning the hits of bands such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. He gravitated towards blues music after hearing an interpretation of the Stevie Ray Vaughan song Lenny from a live cd by John Mayer.

Current Musical Endeavors[edit]

It wasn't until Berklee that he became more interested in writing, arranging, and producing. Those skills have led him to write, perform, and tour nationally with the pop/rock band, Will Makar and the Red Line based out of Boston, MA. They have released a self-titled EP in 2009 and are currently working on a second, due out October 2011.

Corey also performs, writes, and tours with the Latin/pop band Sharin with whom he is working with to produce an EP.
