This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). Chris Mutton[edit]
Chris Mutton is a Canadian film editor. He was born in Toronto, Ontario where he lived until 1993, when his family moved to Peterborough, Ontario. While attending a media class at Peterborough Collegiate, he learned linear editing on dual VHS machines.[1]
In 2023, Mutton won a Director's Guild of Canada award, shared with Dev Singh and Sandy Pereira, for his work on the limited series Essex County.[2][3] He collaborated with Canadian filmmaker Ingrid Veninger on her sixth feature, Porcupine Lake, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017[4]. At the 8th annual Canadian Cinema Editors awards, he was nominated for Best Picture Editing in Feature Film for his work on the Canadian film Luba[5]. Other credits include the Hulu original series Holly Hobbie, CBC comedy web-series The Communist's Daughter, and films Silas, King Baby and Sharp Corner.
In 2015, Mutton attended the Canadian Film Centre as a resident of the film editing lab.[6] He has since collaborated with several directors from the program in that year, including Sanja Zivkovic (Cleo, Easy Land), Reem Morsi (Banned), and Arran Shearing (You Say Yes, King Baby).
Mutton is the current president of the Canadian Cinema Editors.[7] He served as the vice-president of the CCE from 2014 to 2015.
