Hi, Thanks for the additions you made to the Chloe Gartner article. I wrote it a couple of years ago with my original username (for which I can't remember the password, unfortunately), and haven't really been back much since writing it. I am saddened to see that she has passed, but am not wondering over her wellbeing any more. Thanks again and take care! 570ad (talk) 23:18, 21 July 2011 (UTC) ---

Hi Cherrylimerickey, where are you getting all of these chart positions for Laura Branigan's songs? Thanks. Regards, User:WhakoJacko2009

I believe I've only added a few LB chart positions to what was already documented here. Most of her chart positions can be verified at Swisscharts.com or one of its fellow sites (Australian-charts.com etc) although for some regions those sites' documentation is very hit-&-miss. Perhaps if you could specify some song titles I could clarify the source for its chart position.--Cherrylimerickey (talk) 00:16, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I've been trying really hard to find the chart postitions for Tokio (1991) and Maybe Tonight (1985), but I simply cannot find them. Tokio was a Japan-only release, so it may not have charted (though it probably did.) and I think Maybe Tonight charted on the US Dance charts, but as I said, I can't find any info at all! Any help would be much appreciated. Kind regards, User:WhakoJacko2009 (Apr. 26th, 2010)

--- Sorry I don't have any LB chart info that isn't already posted at Wikipedia. The LB Discography article on Wikipedia gives her Billboard Dance charts stats and doesn't list "Maybe Tonight" - the Discography seems very thorough but I don't know of any online archive of the Billboard Dance charts where the absence of "Maybe Tonight" could be verified. As far as "Tokio" charting in Japan: I'm not aware of any online archive for the Japanese charts. My only suggestion would be posting on the forum of a site dealing with the Japanese music scene, asking if anyone can supply a chart peak for "Tokio". There's a forum at Jpopasia.com and also Asianfanatics.net has a forum with a Japanese Entertainment section.--Cherrylimerickey (talk) 17:15, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your help, I'll check out those sites. Take care, User:WhakoJacko2009

Sorry the sites I suggested couldn't help; anyway I just chanced on a thread at the UKmix forum which indexes the Japanese Pop charts and give Laura Branigan's particulars as follows:

  • 1983/04/09 Branigan 2 # 79 , 2 weeks, 2,680 [LP]
  • 1984/05/25 Self Control # 64 , 14 weeks, 17,030 [LP]
  • 1985/08/25 Hold Me # 75 , 4 weeks, 4,170 [LP]
  • 1987/08/25 Touch # 80 , 1 week, 590 [LP]
  • Singles did not enter.

Although I find the stats cited in this thread convincing I can't vouch for their validity - certainly Wikipedia does not consider webforums a reliable source; the reason I've cut and pasted the stats given on the UKmix forum is because Wikipedia won't let me insert a link. However I've seen nothing else online that comes close to giving Laura's Japanese chart details so I thought I'd share the info posted on the UKmix forum with you for what it is. Also books.google.com has issues of Billboard magazine available to view including those from 1985: I've searched without getting a match for "Laura Branigan" and "Maybe Tonight" but you might be interested in browsing through the issues from 1985 to see if Maybe Tonight shows up on any charts. You can browse 1985 from here. Cherrylimerickey (talk) 21:53, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
