Max Keith Wilcox (born 11 September 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Premier League club Brentford. He is a product of the Bolton Wanderers Academy and began his professional career with Brentford in 2022.

Club career[edit]

Bolton Wanderers[edit]

A central midfielder,[3] Wilcox began his youth career in the Bolton Wanderers Academy at the age of 13.[4] He progressed to sign a two-year scholarship at the end of the 2019–20 season,[5] but departed University of Bolton Stadium when his scholarship expired in June 2022.[6]

Brentford[edit]

On 29 June 2022, Wilcox transferred to the B team at Premier League club Brentford and signed a one-year contract, with the option of a further year,[6] effective 1 July 2022,[2] for an undisclosed fee.[7] He had spent a period of the 2021–22 season on trial with the team.[6] Wilcox made a first team friendly appearance in January 2023 and the one-year option on his contract was taken up at the end of the 2022–23 season,[8] with the option of a further year attached to the new contract.[9]

Personal life[edit]

Wilcox is the son of former England international footballer Jason Wilcox.[10]
