Lucias Gabriel Vine (born 5 August 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Southern League Premier Division South club Gosport Borough.

Vine is a product of the Aldershot Town youth system and began his professional career with Brentford in 2022. After his release in 2023, he dropped back into non-League football.

Club career[edit]

Aldershot Town[edit]

A forward or attacking midfielder,[2] Vine began his youth career in the Aldershot Town youth system and was an unused substitute in two first team cup games during the first half of the 2021–22 season.[3][4] He played the first senior football of his career away on loan at Southern League Premier Division South during the second half of the 2021–22 season.[4] Vine made 18 appearances and scored seven goals during his spell and was a part of the 2021–22 Aldershot Senior Cup-winning team.[5][6] Following two years with Aldershot Town,[7] he departed the Recreation Ground in August 2022.[3]

Brentford[edit]

Following unsuccessful trials with EFL clubs Bristol City and Bolton Wanderers in April 2022,[8] Vine joined the B team at Premier League club Brentford on trial during the 2022–23 pre-season.[7] After scoring three goals in as many matches,[7] he signed a one-year contract, with the option of a further year,[3] on a free transfer.[9] Vine was released at the end of an injury-hit 2022–23 season.[10]

Non-League football[edit]

In December 2023, Vine began making appearances for Southern League Premier Division South club Gosport Borough.[5][11] He made 9 appearances before his release in mid-February 2024.[5][12] In early March, he began making appearances for Isthmian League South Central Division club Southall.[13]

Personal life[edit]

Vine is the son of former professional footballer Rowan Vine.[2]
