Wraynel Hercules (born 19 January 2002) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right winger for Isthmian League North Division club New Salamis.

Hercules is a product of the Barnet academy and began his professional career with Brentford in 2022. He dropped into non-League football upon his release in 2022.

Career[edit]

Barnet[edit]

A winger, Hercules began his career with the Turnstyles Academy and entered the Barnet Academy at the age of 11.[2][3] He progressed to U18 level and after undertaking a two-year scholarship in 2018,[4] Hercules played his first senior football on work experience loans at Isthmian League South Central Division clubs Staines Town and Chalfont St Peter during the second half of the 2019–20 season.[5][6][7][8] Hercules departed Underhill in July 2020.[3]

Brentford[edit]

On 23 July 2020, Hercules transferred to the B team at Brentford on a one-year contract, with the option of a further year,[3] on a free transfer.[9] He gained experience as right wing back during the 2020–21 season and made 25 appearances,[10] scoring two goals.[11] The club took up the option on Hercules' contract in May 2021 and he made 30 appearances,[11] scored two goals and was a part of the 2021–22 London Senior Cup-winning squad.[12][13] He was released at the end of the 2021–22 season.[12]

Non-League football[edit]

On 23 September 2022, Hercules joined hometown Isthmian League Premier Division club Enfield Town on a free transfer.[14] Following 16 appearances and two goals,[15] he transferred across the division to Potters Bar Town on 12 December 2022.[16] After making 9 appearances,[17] he moved to Southern League First Division Central club Biggleswade Town in February 2023.[18] He made just one appearance for the Waders,[8] before playing the final six weeks of the 2022–23 season with Isthmian League Premier Division club Wingate & Finchley on dual-registration terms.[19] In June 2023, Hercules transferred to Isthmian League North Division club New Salamis.[20]

Personal life[edit]

Hercules attended Enfield Grammar School.[21]
