Alexis Newman is a singer, songwriter from Yonkers, New York. She began singing as a little girl in her school choir and at family events. She was soon introduced to R&B music by her first voice teacher. She took Alexis to perform Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, and other R&B Diva's hits at open mics in clubs in downtown Manhattan. Alexis pursued her love of performing by entering local singing competitions and soon began writing and recording her own music. Alexis is now attending Berklee College of Music where she is a performance major and is pursuing her love of R&B/pop music.
