need photo category[edit]

To avoid overlapping categories and unnecessary complication for people requesting images would it be possible to change the needs-photo=yes from Category:Mountain articles needing photos to Category:Wikipedia requested photographs of mountains? Traveler100 (talk) 18:27, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:20, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 11 December 2011[edit]

Can someone take the italics off the main description? — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 08:40, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I personally see no reason not to, but has this been raised at all with WP:WikiProject Mountains? Anomie 16:05, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's more relevant to WikiProjects in general and keeping things consistent (See this page for example: Talk:Mount Tanagra), all other WikiProject banners show the main text unitalicized. I'm pretty sure it's uncontroversial, though if you insist I'll go ask. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:23, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done as a trivial piece of cleanup for parity with other project boxes. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 13:12, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ref or identifier[edit]

Various regions have a unique identifier associated with mountains... in the USA the United States Board on Geographic Names both sets an official name for peaks and assigns an identifier (the GNSID). Would it make sense to capture these identifiers in wikipedia? Brycen (talk) 07:38, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request[edit]

Could someone please adjust the banner so that Category:Automatically assessed Mountains articles is not required? The category is emppty and there are no bots that populate articles with this parameter anymore and haven't in a couple years. Thanks! Kumioko (talk) 18:47, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change photo requests to image requests[edit]

As part of a nearly-completed shift to distinguish requests for photos from requests for images in general, it is requested that this template be modified to place talk pages in "Wikipedia requested images of..." categories, rather than the old "Wikipedia requested photographs of..." categories. As such, please supplement all references to "photo(s) of..." and "photograph(s) of..." with "image(s) of..." in both the template and its documentation, while maintaining backwards compatibility for the old "photo" parameters. In particular, change "photograph or picture" to simply "image". Note that the "Wikipedia requested images of..." categories have already been created. Thank you! — s w p b T 16:17, 7 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Would anybody mind changing the main icon for a better illustration? The current one is not actually bad but it shows a bit too much sky and it is also disappointedly blurred when zoomed in. Zach (Talk) 20:52, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
