Pointless linking of individual characters[edit]

It is totally pointless to wikilink all Vai characters, as they all redirect to the same page (Vai syllabary), and there is no likelihood that there will ever be articles on individual Vai characters. In particular:

  • 1. It is better to link to Vai syllabary once at the top of the chart rather than 300 times in the chart.
  • 2. Linking characters to a redirect means that on mouseover all you see is "Vai syllabary", which is far, far less useful than displaying the character's codepoint and character name as is the case for unlinked characters.

For these reasons I strongly disagree with linking any characters in any of the Unicode block templates to a redirect or any article that is not directly related to the particular character. BabelStone (talk) 19:28, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
