Needs rewrite[edit]

This is not ideal. There should instead be one singular infobox on each article that lists both regular and beach, not two instances of the infobox on the same article. Basically, its the same formatting rationale that led to infobox embedding. Zzyzx11 (talk) 06:18, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Apparently this template was based on what is now Template:Infobox basketball tournament at games. However, unlike the basketball one, this volleyball template is currently only used on Olympics articles, and not on all of them (Template:Infobox Olympic event is currently being used instead on the 2016, 2012, 2008, and 2004] pages). Thus, this template should look more like Infobox Olympic event. Zzyzx11 (talk) 23:43, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The other thing is that it relies on calling Template:Vb and Template:Vbw, which are currently are not applicable for the beach volleyball teams. Zzyzx11 (talk) 23:53, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Template justification[edit]

Per discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Olympics/Archive 20#Infobox Olympic event, sport-specific infoboxes are justified for Olympic articles. This infobox should not be changed to another infobox such as {{Infobox Olympic event}}, unless there is advance justification and consensus to do so.
