WikiProject Ballet To-do list:

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Set designer[edit]

Suggest that this line be changed to "Designer" or that another separate line be added for "Costume designer". To assume that the set designer was the costume designer as well is not necessarily correct. Thanks! Markhh (talk) 17:22, 13 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The sets and costumes were all done by Benois.Mordkin (talk) 22:17, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Music[edit]

Would it be possible to change the sub-heading "Composed by" to "Music by"? A great deal of music used by choreographers over the decades – the majority, I think – is existing music not composed for the ballet, and the present wording is perhaps rather misleading. Grateful for a response on this as we have a Wikipedia Editathon coming up in June at the Royal Opera House to work on ballet articles: Wikipedia:WikiProject Ballet/Royal Opera House editathonTim riley (talk) 15:41, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That makes sense; it also clarifies that it's a reference to music. Another alternative would be "Music composed by", which is a bit verbose but leaves no doubt about meaning. Lambtron (talk) 16:00, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed it to "Music"; and other parameter names similarly. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:44, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Most remiss of me not to thank you for that at the time. Now done, and better late than never. Tim riley (talk) 19:24, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Line break[edit]

Is anyone technically up to fixing a small problem with line breaks? On one of my screens (and I imagine many other people's) the info-box topic "Notable work(s)" wraps to give this:

Notable work
(s)

This is only a problem with Explorer. It doesn't happen if I use Firefox. But can some code be found to stop it happening at all? Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have it right. Tim riley (talk) 18:46, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Aargh! Please ignore the above. It is the person info-box, not the ballet one that is playing me up. I was editing Frederick Ashton and got muddled. So sorry! Tim riley (talk) 18:52, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No italic[edit]

Is there a reason why this template doesn't use {{italic title}}? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:23, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:56, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Premiere date and place[edit]

It has been proposed at Template talk:Infobox opera#Premiere date and place adjustment needed that the two parameters |premiere= (date) and |place= be placed on individual lines instead of being joined in one linbe by a dash ( – ). If no objections are raised there or here, I will implement the change soon. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:45, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Done. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:56, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It seems to me that since the recent attempt by User:Pigsonthewing to fix something, the template doesn't emit the premiere's date (|premiere=) and location (|place=) anymore. I suggest to use the correct parameters, or change all instances of the template and its documentation to use the newly introduced parameters. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 14:35, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

RfC on naming countries in infoboxes[edit]

A RfC which may affect this infobox's |place= parameter has been opened at WT:WikiProject Music#Naming countries in infoboxes. Please add your comments there. —Ojorojo (talk) 17:30, 17 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
