Coord: region[edit]

Multichill left a comment that "FIXME: Region should be SCT, not GB-SCT" (referring to the |region= parameter of {{Coord}}). That's not my reading of ISO 3166-2:GB, which says "Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part is GB, the ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code of the United Kingdom. The second part is three letters, which is the British Standard BS 6879 three-letter code of the subdivision." (I therefore see GB-SCT as correct and analogous with, say, GB-BIR for Birmingham).

Further, using "SCT" fails to cause {{GeoTemplate}} to display UK-specific links, which are shown when "GB-SCT" is used. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 20:11, 19 May 2012 (UTC).[reply]

You live in a weird country, or set of countries, you would expect GB-SCT, but see page 27 of this document. GB-SCT is a made up code and you won't find it in any of the ISO documents, it's SCT. Multichill (talk) 20:55, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see anything on that page which contradicts what is say above. Note the "-WLS example on that page, whose Welsh equivalent is shown as "GB-CYM" not "CYM". As ISO 3166-2:GB indicates, "-SCT" is BS 6879, not ISO. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:24, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And nothing to support your claim either. In the whole document everything is prefixed, expect these. It's explained in this post. Multichill (talk) 21:53, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
On the contrary; and the post you cite includes the wording (my emphasis) "coded SCT inside the entry GB of ISO 3166-2, that also gives code elements for each of the the 32 scottish council areas". Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 23:17, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mapping display names[edit]

Is there a parameter that could be added so that when the list is opened in OSM, Bing, etc, the names of the items in the list are displayed rather than #1, #2, #3 ...? C1614 (talk) 15:57, 13 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
