Purpose[edit]

What does this template do? As I see it, it makes the typing of a date more cumbersome: instead of typing

1 January 2008

one has to type

{{Date2|1|January|2008}}

which doesn't seem like an improvement. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 03:22, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you don't find it important, you may as well not use it. And you may as well be complaining to Template:Date, as it's almost the same thing. Bottom line, it's for people who want to use it. --Alexcoldcasefan (talk) 09:40, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
1) The template {{Date}} is not the same thing at all; it does some serious formatting work. 2) I still don't understand what this template does. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 11:18, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Again, this template formats a date in a simple way for people who WANT to use it. Understand now? Alexcoldcasefan (talk) 12:45, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
