Great Britain not United Kingdom[edit]

There is a page already devoted to the United Kingdom. This is a page devoted to Great Britain however the links with this page go to the United Kingdom. It needs to be changed or the page needs to be deleted. The Quill (talk) 12:09, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Palaeozoic99 (talk) 20:48, 5 February 2012 (UTC) Great Britain is not a country, it's an island and a colloquial term for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The following should be changed:[reply]

Example usage

   *  Great Britain → United Kingdom
   * United Kingdom → United Kingdom
   *  Great Britain → United Kingdom

Using a redirect alias

   * United Kingdom → United Kingdom
   *  Great Britain → United Kingdom
   *  GBR →  GBR
Great Britain also refers to the country before 1801 so if anything it should redirect to Template:Country data Kingdom of Great Britain and use the 1707-1800 flag. – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 14:14, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Editing request for field hockey[edit]

Can someone fix the field hockey line to just Great Britain national field hockey team in this template? --Aleenf1 13:50, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 24 January 2020[edit]

Please remove the link-alias-basketball line. It's wrong, because the template {{bku|19}} creates a wikilink to the British "A" team article instead of U19.
Tested with sandbox:
{{bku|19|Great Britain}} Great Britain
{{bku|19|Great Britain/sandbox}} Great Britain

Fixed, the age parameter is now added and now avoids a redirect. S.A. Julio (talk) 03:33, 25 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
