Passaic County is governed by Board of County Commissioners, composed of seven members who are elected at-large to staggered three-year terms office on a partisan basis, with two or three seats coming up for election each year as part of the November general election in a three-year cycle. At a reorganization meeting held in January, the board selects a Director and Deputy Director from among its members to serve for a one-year term.[1] As of 2024[update], Passaic County's Commissioners are:
Bruce James (D, Clifton, 2026),[2] Deputy Director Cassandra "Sandi" Lazzara (D, Little Falls, 2024),[3] Director John W. Bartlett (D, Wayne, 2024),[4] Orlando Cruz (D, Paterson, 2026),[5] Terry Duffy (D, West Milford, 2025),[6] Nicolino Gallo (R, Totowa, 2024)[7] and Pasquale "Pat" Lepore (D, Woodland Park, 2025).[8][1][9][10][11][12][13]
Constitutional officers, elected on a countywide basis are: Clerk Danielle Ireland-Imhof (D, Hawthorne, 2028),[14][15] Acting Sheriff Gary Giardina (D, Wayne, 2024)[16][17] and Surrogate Zoila S. Cassanova (D, Wayne, 2026).[18][19][10]
