WGAG-FM

Created by Raymie (talk). Self-nominated at 06:21, 8 September 2019 (UTC).

  • This is more of a comment for the hook and I'm not sure if I'll end up reviewing this, but somehow the hook feels a little niche. Perhaps a different hook could be proposed? Like for example, could information about why its call sign was "GAG"? Or perhaps something about the station having a budget of $200 and having to raise that money by selling donuts. • Hmm... There's a comment on a blog about why Oak Ridge couldn't have "OR" in its calls (several Orlando commercial stations did and would have complained), but it's not really usable information. The other one could work: Raymie (tc) 07:14, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that high school radio station WGAG-FM had a $200 budget, raising money by selling donuts and clearing lawns?
Okay, I think we should be good to go with ALT1, though I guess it could be revised slightly into something like:
ALT1a ... that high school radio station WGAG-FM had a yearly budget of $200, which it raised by selling donuts and clearing lawns?
Otherwise, the article meets DYK requirements, no close paraphrasing was found, a QPQ has been provided and completed. ALT1/ALT1a is cited inline, though I don't have access to the clipping in my country so I'll assume good faith here. We should be good to go with ALT1a, though since I introduced the word "yearly", a second opinion is welcome as well. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:43, 12 September 2019 (UTC)
Looking to promote this, if the article states "selling doughnuts and cleaning yards", why does the hook say "selling donuts and clearing lawns"? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:49, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
@Cwmhiraeth: Whoops. Fixed. Raymie (tc) 03:56, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. Replacing tick. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:10, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
