  • Comment: you know the play or you don't (but there's a link), - it's hard to summarize

5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 06:39, 11 August 2017 (UTC).

  • the article is long enough, is neutral, contains no close paraphrasing or copyvio (28.6% from [1] due to a quote from the subject), the hook is neutral, short enough, interesting, is properly sourced with an inline source citation, the article itself is adequately sourced and written in adequate English --Elisa.rolle (talk) 01:54, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you! - You will have to say something about the suitability of the image (licensed? shows well in small size? has not appeared on DYK before?). --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:07, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Image is nice in small size, and the licence seems right (it was released to Creative Commons by its owner). Elisa.rolle (talk) 14:55, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
  • The hook has a confusing structure: it's unclear why German is relevant, and whether "after" is used chronologically or as the equivalent of "based on". I'd like to suggest the somewhat longer but clearer hook (and have struck the original):
I was divided as to whether "absurdist" should be added before "French", and ultimately left it out for brevity, but it can be included if you wish, Gerda Arendt. BlueMoonset (talk) 21:06, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for trying. Can we drop "which was"?
ALT2: ... that the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki (pictured) co-wrote the German libretto of Ubu Rex, his only opera buffa, based on the French play Ubu Roi? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:15, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Review needed of ALT2 hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 04:40, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
  • ALT2 checks out and each part is cited in the article. Relying on previous review otherwise. --Usernameunique (talk) 01:36, 28 August 2017 (UTC)
