Ray Davies: A Complicated Life. London: The Bodley Head. ISBN 978-1-84792-317-2. p. 209: "[Road manager Sam] Curtis watched helplessly ...: 'Mick [Avory] picked up his high-hat cymbal, came over and whack! Fortunately, Dave [Davies] managed to step out of the way slightly because if he had not moved that thing would have gone through his head down to his neck.' ... It was such a violent act. He hit him over the back of the head. I was absolutely stunned.'" p. 668: "For the remaining dates of the tour, the Kinks were replaced by the Walker Brothers ..."
