Article is new enough (recent GA) and obviously long enough. Very well written, great job for bringing this important article to GA! QPQ is done. My main concern is there are several sentences copied verbatim from this book, which should have been caught by the GA reviewer. For example, "To this impression add the remains of a Mycenaean road in combination with what is thought to have been a Mycenaean fortification wall, spanning the Isthmus near Corinth", and "During this period, the kings of Ahhiyawa were clearly able to deal with the Hittite kings both in a military and diplomatic way." See Earwig report for all instances. Another thing is that the hook is only mildly interesting. This is the kind of article that makes DYK great, and it deserves to be the lead hook. I strongly encourage you to propose a new hook which utilizes one of the many images used in the article (such as the eye-catching Agamemnon's mask or the Lion Gate). -Zanhe (talk) 04:14, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
- I'm sorry for the delay but was on tough shedule the last weeks. After fixing the above issues with some large-scale copy-edit, I believe the following hooks appear much more attractive, as suggested, than the initial proposal:
- ALT1:
...that the best preserved palaces in Mycenaean Greece (c. 1600-1100 BC) are found in Pylos and Tiryns, while Mycenae (Lion Gate pictured), to which the culture of this era owes its name, is only partially preserved? - ALT2: ...that the Mask of Agamemnon (pictured) is probably the most famous artifact from Mycenaean Greece (c. 1600–1100 BC)?

Thanks for fixing the copyvio issues. I've done a bit more copyediting to fix a few remaining sentences. (Earwig still reports a few alarming matches, but they appear to be reverse copied from Wikipedia). I just realized that the Lion Gate had been featured on DYK before, so let's go with ALT2, which is supported by citation.
