I hope my esteemed fellow editors will tolerate my putting the breaks on for a minute in the interests of improving the reader's DYK experience. What attracted me to this hook is the notion of "steeper than vertical", yet when I click on three random bolded articles and search the word vertical I don't find anything helping me understand what that is. (I actually do know, but that's beside the point.) I think it's reasonable to expect that each article contain the phrase "steeper than vertical", either with an immediate explanation or a link to some other article that explains it.
