Colla mac Báirid[edit]

The article is new and long enough and seems properly sourced. I cannot verify the hook source because searching the book for the subject's name or his supposed father's name does not yield any results; Google Books claims they are not even mentioned in the book. This happens sometimes, however; I've had Google Books claim that a full biography does not mention its subject at all. There appears to be no reason not to assume good faith. What concerns me more is the content of the article. The article is c. 4500 characters long, lead included. Only about 1300 characters belong to the section which actually deals with Colla. The Background section does not mention him at all, and it is makes up about two thirds of the entire article. The entire article is supposed to be a biography, not just a third of it (in a section titled Biography). That all said, I can still approve the hook. Surtsicna (talk) 21:10, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback. I decided to trim the background as some of the information is a bit extraneous. The overall length is still ok I think. As for the source I used it uses the Old Norse spellings throughout, so Colla is given as Kolli son of Bárðr and his father is given as Bárðr son of Ívarr and/or Bárðr Óttarsson. I think this is a stylistic choice however, and considering multiple sources the Irish spelling seems to be more commonly used. Retroplum (talk) 12:49, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
